The State Government is considering charging households that use large amounts of electricity more for their power.
The Energy Minister Peter Collier says a final decision on the structure of electricity tariffs will not be made until early next year.
The Minister says one of the optionsbeing considered is making big electricity users pay a higher tariff once they exceed a certain threshold.
"That is but one option being put to me at this stage unfortunately Western Australians do face a rather significant increase in electricity prices again next year but in terms of the structure of those tariffs that won't be determined until mid January-February of 2010," he said.
